Moving to Hollywood after 1930, she was often cast as a tough-minded working girl who rarely had a happy ending. She received Oscar nominations for Stella Dallas (1937), Ball of Fire (1941), Double Indemnity (1944) and Sorry, Wrong Number (1948). Among his memorable films were True Confession (1937), Double Indemnity (1944) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). Among his Disney films were The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) and Son of Flubber (1963). Minor surface striations (not evident head on) at signatures.
