Stamp (no denomination), postmarked Washington, D. October 14, 1975, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Kent wrote the music for both, with lyrics provided by Nat Burton (for “Dover”) and James “Kim” Gannon for Christmas. I’ll Be Home for Christmas , a big hit for Bing Crosby in 1943 and a sentimental favorite covered by dozens of artists since, was the most requested song at USO Christmas shows all around the world.
