Billy Wagner played 16 seasons as a star relief pitcher for the Houston, Philadelphia, New York (NL), Boston and Atlanta. During his time with Houston, he won the 1999 NL Rolaids Relief Man Award and pitched a combined no-hitter in 2003. The 7-time All-Star’s career 11.9 strikeouts per inning pitched is the highest of any MLB pitcher with at least 900 innings pitched. Along with finishing in the top ten in saves in the NL 10-times, he has the lowest career ERA, batting average against, and WHIP of any left-handed pitcher. Wagner’s career saves total of 422, makes him only one of eight MLB relief pitchers to reach 400. Wagner was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.
