Lynn, who read lines for such aspiring Scarlett O’Haras as Paulette Goddard and Frances Dee, left Hollywood two years later to become an Army intelligence officer in WWII (he was awarded a Bronze Star). Beginning in 1948, Lynn attempted to resume his screen career, appearing in such films as Butterfield 8 (1960) and Tony Rome (1967).
