VAN CLIBURN The world renowned classical pianist signs the cover of a Playbill for his October 23, 1971 performance at the Concert Hall, Civic Auditorium, inscribed to George Sanders. Inscribed Show Bill signed: “to George Sanders/with all sincere/best wishes/Van Cliburn”, 6×9. Cover of Playbill, 1971 October 23. Concert Hall, Civic Auditorium (unknown city). Titled: “Celebrity Attractions: Van Cliburn”. Affixed to 6¼x9¼ paper (2 surfaces). A child prodigy born in 1934, he made thousands of concert appearances and many recordings. He performed at the White House during the Reagan-Gorbachev summit meeting (1986). He made a 16-city tour in 1994. Sanders, originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV interview host, first in Los Angeles and later in Portland. Vertical fold does not touch signature.
