HARDIE ALBRIGHT Vintage photo in pinstripe suit, inscribed in person to collector Saul Goodman. Photograph inscribed and signed: “To/Saul/Best wishes/Hardie Albright”. Collector’s ink stamp on verso dates signature: February 15, 1935. On stage from childhood in his parents’ vaudeville act, Hardie Albright b. He got a few starring roles, notably as Arthur Dimmesdale in The Scarlet Letter (1935). He was the voice of the young Bambi in the Disney film (1942). He appeared in a dozen Broadway plays, Shakespearean roles included, between 1926 and 1938. He made multiple appearances in both sitcoms (Leave It to Beaver, Dennis the Menace, Hazel) and dramas (Perry Mason, Rawhide, Gunsmoke). He was the UN Secretary General in the Twilight Zone classic To Serve Man (1962). While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Corners lightly worn and creased.
