Collector’s ink stamp on verso dates signature: October 16, 1937. After military service, Loder took up acting and soon moved to the US. He played mostly supporting roles (How Green Was My Valley, 1941), but starred as the romantic lead in King Solomon’s Mines (1937). He was married to actress Hedy Lamarr from 1943 to 1947, one of several marriages for each. Their marriage is featured in the recent Irish play, Michael James Ford’s Hedy Lamarr and the Easter Rising (2006). While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Corners lightly worn and creased.
