You are looking at a beautiful signed copy of the rare first printing (May 1936), first edition of Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With The Wind. It includes an original later state dustjacket. There are very few copies of the first printing autographed by Margaret Mitchell. The May 1936 printing was a smaller printing batch that actually released in June – so you will sometimes see a’first edition’ with a June 1936 date, or even’reprinted June 1936′. This limited printing of the May 1936 version is known as the official first printing. In a letter dated in February, 1937, Mitchell said she would no longer autograph her book, not even for relatives/friends. She died an untimely death when she was hit by a speeding vehicle in 1949. Some information about the person Margaret Mitchell signed this book to will be included with the book. It truly is the most desired book for Gone With The Wind fans.
